About the Gala

JQY’s annual gala is a premier fundraising event supporting at-risk Jewish LGBTQ youth, providing life-saving community, resources, and crisis support. Hosted in one of New York’s most iconic venues, this evening brings together leaders, allies, and changemakers for a meaningful and celebratory experience that fuels our mission. 

Funds raised from the gala directly support JQY’s programs, including free mental health services, community events, and critical support for LGBTQ youth in need.

Brandon Uranowitz

Jewish Queer Icon Award

Brandon Uranowitz is a Tony Award winning actor, currently appearing as Tateh in Lincoln Center Theater’s acclaimed Broadway revival of Ragtime.

Previous Broadway credits include Tom Stoppard’s Leopoldstadt (Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards), Lanford Wilson’s Burn This (Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations), The Band’s Visit, Prince of Broadway, Falsettos (Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations), and An American in Paris (Tony Award nomination). Off-Broadway Brandon has appeared as Rabbi Jonah in Becoming Eve at New York Theater Workshop, and as Leon Czolgosz in John Weidman’s and Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins at Classic Stage Company. 

He has starred in several New York City Center productions including Ragtime, Titanic, Road Show, and Grand Hotel. Regionally Brandon played Jonathan in tick, tick,…boom! at the Kennedy Center (Helen Hayes Award nomination), and Arnold Beckoff in Harvey Fierstein’s Torch Song Trilogy at the Studio Theater in Washington, DC (Helen Hayes Award nomination). Brandon can be seen in the films Here Today, The Kitchen, and Stage Fright; and on television in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, “Fosse/Verdon”, “Blue Bloods”, “Dietland”, “Inside Amy Schumer”, and “Law and Order: Criminal Intent.”

JQY Trailblazer Award

RIVA MARKER is a Tony award-winning producer of film, television, and stage and the CEO of Linden Productions, the premiere production arm of Linden Entertainment. 

For film, Linden has Aleshea Harris’ directorial debut IS GOD IS slated for Orion Pictures first wide release May 15th, 2026.  The film stars Kara Young, Sterling K. Brown, Vivica A. Fox and Janelle Monae.  The company is also in pre-production on ONE ATTEMPT REMAINING for Netflix starring Jennifer Garner.  Marker is also a consulting producer on Julia Loktev’s Oscar short-listed documentary MY UNDESIRABLE FRIENDS: PART 1, and she produced Tina Satter’s Peabody award-winning film REALITY starring Sydney Sweeney for HBO Films. Prior to Linden, Marker co-founded Nine Stories with Jake Gyllenhaal.  Some of her previous credits include Cary Fukunaga’s SAG and Spirit award-winning film BEASTS OF NO NATION, Antoine Fuqua’s THE GUILTY, David Gordon Green’s STRONGER, Natalie James’ RELIC, Michael Showalter’s HELLO, MY NAME IS DORIS, Antonio Campos’ star studded THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME, Paul Dano’s directorial debut WILDLIFE, nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards, and Lisa Cholodenko’s Academy Award nominated THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT.

For the stage, Marker’s shows have received 29 Tony nominations including Best Play for David Adjmi’s Tony award-winning STEREOPHONIC which Marker produced under Linden Productions. Linden also currently is producing Joe White’s play BLACKOUT SONGS running at MCC. Other productions include: Jeremy O. Harris’ groundbreaking SLAVE PLAY and Simon Stephen and Nick Payne’s SEA WALL / A LIFE; and the critically acclaimed Stephen Sondheim revival of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE starring Gyllenhaal.

With performances at the San Francisco International Comedy Competition, The Comedy Festival produced by TBS and HBO, and the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, her quick wit and playful stage presence have earned her loyal fans across the world.

In addition to headlining theaters and festivals, Dana has performed at and emceed hundreds of high-profile events, sharing the national stage with luminaries like President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Meryl Streep, Carol Burnett, Sir Elton John and countless others. Combining her gift of humor with humanitarian efforts, Dana has raised over $70M for non-profits around the country in the fight for LGBTQ rights, women’s health, and HIV/AIDS education and prevention…just to name a few. SHARONE SAYEGH (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary theater artist in NYC. She has performed on Broadway as Maxine Dean/Juno in Beetlejuice, Bonnie in Come From Away, originated the role of Anna in The Band’s Visit (OBC), and made her Broadway debut in Mamma Mia!. She has performed, written, directed, and produced Off-Broadway and regionally at some of the country’s most prestigious theaters including The Atlantic, Playwrights Horizons, Ars Nova, La Jolla Playhouse, Prospect Theater Co, Westport Country Playhouse, and The Muny. She is a ‘24 ‘The Workshop’ fellow, the co-writer of the new musical The Game Boy, and is currently writing The Goldsmith, a solo play stemming from her family’s true stories, across borders, cultures, and generations; which recently won Theatre Aspen Solo Flights 2025 festival. @sharonesayegh
